UK gaming Market Versus The International Markets

I have been looking into the gaming market and have seen some amazing things!

The UK gaming market is doing very well!

This pie chart shows the UK games industry market valuation for the Game software industry in 2020.

We can see that the digital console that covers nearly half of the whole pie chart has made a growth of +24.2% making a total of £1.7bn! Then we have the mobile games which are right under the digital console and they made a grouth of +21.3% and a total amount of £1.5bn!

Then we have the Digital PC and Boxed software which are very similar in total price but the growth is very different. The Digital PC has made a growth of +14.8% but the Boxed software made a growth of +7.1%. And at last we got the Pre-owned category which it doesn't do well at all having a massive decrease of -22.8% because of Covid-19.

We also got the Game Hardware industry.

In the Game hardware industry we can see the difference between 2019 and 2020.

For Console hardware we got a raise of +74.8% which is amazing! The total reached from around £500m estimated to £853m which is a very big raise.

For PC game hardware it increased with a whopping +69.7% and the total amount increased from an estimated amount of £500m to £823. which is a very big increase.

Then we got the Console Game Accessories which had an increase of +36.9% which is pretty major as well and the total amount increased from approximately £300m to £453m which is a pretty big change as well.

Then we have the VR Hardware industry which is making it's way up slowly but surely by increasing with +29% which is wow and increased from approximately £100m to £129m which is a pretty significant amount knowing that the VR hardware industry is pretty new and it's becoming slowly more and more popular becoming mainstream one day.

The smaller less paid industry is the Game Culture industry which is pretty short handed but still makes a pretty big amount of money.

In the Game Culture industry we got the Toys & Merchandising which made an increase of +22.4% and a total amount of $119.6m which is a pretty big amount comparing with the other ones.

We got the Movies & Soundtracks which they made a big loss of -22.2% and making a total of £22.9m.

Then we have the Streaming & Game Video Content which it made a total of £45.6m which is not bad at all comparing with the last two.

One of the last two are the Books & Magazines which had a loss of -24.5% and made a total of £10.5m which is pretty bad but then we have the Events & Venues which had a massive loss of -97.2% which is amazing how down it fell making a total of just $249k which it's the lowest out of all industries.

Here I made a comparison between the UK and Germany.

-In 2019, there were 614 games companies developing and distributing games in Germany.

-The German games market in 2018 increased by 9% to €4.37bn. In-game purchases including DLCs were the largest single segment, contributing €1.95bn, having increased from last year being €1.5bn.

-The game software revenue increased by +14% with a total of €3.5bn.
